Focus Areas
Automotive
We provide transportation and logistics services to the automotive industry, which is one of the most complex sectors of all, given the ever-increasing flows of materials between continents and the diverse range of supply-chain strategies deployed. Our dedicated automotive services allow you to focus on opportunities as well as challenges.
Our core strategy maintains just-in-time (JIT) deliveries up to just-in-sequence (JIS) deliveries.
Fashion
Rapid changeovers from one collection to another, seasonal peaks and globally-integrated production systems - virtually no other sector relies so heavily on flexible and intelligent logistics solutions as the fashion and lifestyle industries. If you want to be in the right place at the right time and look good when you get there, you need to be able to rely on an experienced logistics partner like Tailormade Logistics.
Tailormade Logistics takes care of the entire supply-chain, from incoming overseas containers up to retail store deliveries with dedicated equipment: hanging-garment containers, city distribution vehicles, etc.
Garden Centers
Delivery of palleted goods to garden centres: from Euro pallet to display pallet and large packages. Every day, pallets are picked up from about 150 suppliers for distribution to garden centres and home-improvement stores. The products vary from lawn and garden products, including fertilisers, grass seed, spreaders and soils.
DIY/Home improvement
Given the customer structure of the trading business, Tailormade Logistics specialises in the logistics sector in supplying DIY stores. Thanks to many years’ experience in the DIY business, we understand the challenges, such as brief time-slots for receiving goods, long waiting times and penalty claims, and act for you not only for pure logistics, but also as an extension of your sales network in any other problem that may arise, to solve it where possible in direct discussions with your customers.
For your DIY customers, we can also deliver products of any description on the date required. Particularly sensitive, bulky or heavy items that can be handled by conventional cargo shippers, or only with a high risk of damage - we will carry them safely to their destination.
FMCG
Highly demanding customers in food and consumer-goods industries require seamless shipping management.
- High seasonality: volume of loads increases rapidly during peak season.
- Short delivery lead-times.
- High degree of importance for on-time delivery and carrier performance.
- Shipping costs represent a significant portion of the total cost of sale.
Since some FMCG products such as beverages have relatively low unit value, the cost of transporting the goods will often represent a significant portion of the cost of the product. An FMCG shipper’s ability to minimise transport costs will therefore directly impact the selling price for the retailer, and consequently their ability to offer their goods at a competitive price and/or maintain profit margins.
Flooring
To meet the needs of our flooring customers, we coordinate all transport, distribution and related logistic activities such as warehousing, cutting, repacking, display logistics, sample management and Circular Economy Logistics.
We mainly distribute floor covering such as rug, carpet, vinyl, artificial grass, laminate, parquet, LVT, tiles and other related products such as carpet pad, skirting boards and in-store material.
We have special racks in our warehouses for both rolls and pallets and special fork lifts and trucks for manipulating and transporting flooring products
Industrial Goods
Tailormade Logistics handles B2B industrial products, such as deliveries of packaging materials, plastic wraps, tying materials and equipment. We have special procedures for shipping these high-quality goods and semi-finished products.
TML has provided dedicated transport for many years. An example of dedicated transport for industrial goods is the delivery of (large) kitchen equipment for exclusive interior-design projects. These fragile goods are shipped in special equipment and handled with the greatest care.
Reverse Logistics
Reverse logistics focusses on the backward flow of materials from customers to suppliers. The main goal of this strategy is to maximise value from the returned item, or ensuring its proper disposal.
Tailormade Logistics considers reverse logistics as a core business. Reverse logistics is not only a way to recover value, but also an opportunity to reduce damage to the environment and develop social sustainability. Reusable packaging and the management of recyclables continue to gain widespread acceptance within supply- chains.
